I have a background in business management and financial support with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Mississippi State University. Before joining the Global Center for Aquatic Health and Food Security (GCAHFS), I worked as a budget analyst, supporting the Science Project branch at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. I also served as a business manager in the Dean’s Office at MSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine. While my expertise is in business and finance, my work plays a key role in supporting research initiatives in aquatic health and food security.

As the business manager for GCAHFS, I provide business and financial support for various projects under the Mississippi State University program. My role primarily focuses on budgeting and financial coordination to support the center’s initiatives.

From your perspective, how is GCAHFS “taking care of what matters?”
GCAHFS plays a key role in food security through initiatives like the Fish Innovation Lab, which focused on educating communities about the nutritional benefits of fish and sustainable aquaculture practices. The center’s work also extends to rehabilitating sea turtles, making a lasting impact on marine conservation and the environment as a whole.

What are your hobbies or activities outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also love relaxing on the back porch, soaking up the sun while watching my dogs play.

What is your favorite seafood?
My favorite seafood is my homemade salmon. I love preparing it just the way I like—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.
